Meaning:

• an old broken car which is not in a good condition.

Examples:

1. Sell your car and buy a brand-new one. Sorry! I have forgotten that nobody buys such a jalopy.
2. She bought a jalopy for a couple hundred dollars, and though it looks rough, it still runs fine.
3. After years of wear and tear, my first car finally became a jalopy, but it still managed to get me through high school.
4. I can’t believe he’s still driving that old jalopy, it’s a miracle it starts every morning!
