Meaning:

• To refuse somebody’s offer of going on a date.

Examples:

1. I’m regretted that I asked her out. She was not supposed to turn me down.
2. I asked her to grab coffee, but she turned me down.
3. He was heartbroken when she turned him down for the prom.
